David and Alissa Meyer, both natives of Northern New Jersey, are currently residing in the USA after spending 5 years in Central China.
Before going to China at the age of 25, David worked in a number of diversified fields including education, professional athletics, executive administration and coaching. While in China, David worked in the foreign affairs office of an international university where he supervised foreign operations and studied Mandarin Chinese on the side. David earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Virginia Tech in 1999 and 2001 respectively.
Alissa also arrived in China at the age of 25 after working most recently as director of client services for Morey & Associates, a market research and consulting firm specializing in cultural attractions. While living in Charleston, SC, Alissa nurtured her love for reading classic books and playing the piano. She received her bachelor’s degree in business administration and graduated from James Madison University (VA) in 2003.
The couple enjoy the benefits of a quiet and peaceful life. In their spare time, they enjoy reading, listening to books on tape, and growing in love for God and people.
